Want to learn more about Marvel Comic's "Augmented Reality" (AR) app for smartphones and tablet PCs? Then check out the highlights from Marvel's first panel of San Diego Comic Con...
- - Marvel spoke quite a bit about the idea of free digital downloads within each issue, and thinks it's " a great way to get people to sample digital comics for nothing." The code is only for issues with the price of $3.99, but will entertain the idea of extending the program to their $2.99 books if the program is popular enough.
- - The hardcover edition of the current miniseries Avengers vs. X-Men will also come with a download code, and the digital Marvel Infinite Comics tie-ins to AvX will be printed in the trade paperback.
- - Marvel showed off it's new AR app, which will add extra material to each print issue. Marvel will also be creating "Perviously in..." videos for each of their books, utilizing the AR app's capabilities.
