Last night’s The Walking Dead definitely showed that things are starting to pick up. Let’s talk about it after the jump.
First off, I’m glad there were more walkers. There has definitely been a lack of them recently. Lori was a total badass stabbing that one in the face. That window zombie was horrible in the best way possible. The way the glass was pulling the skin away from it face? It was absolutely disgusting and amazing.
Can we agree that Shane is going crazy? The way he was talking to Lori was so creepy. He was being very possessive of her and the baby. He was trying to convince her that they belong together, but Lori doesn’t want him. She ended up telling him that Rick knows about the affair between them. I think that it probably scared him a little because he doesn't know if and how mad Rick is. The way he lied to her about Rick being back at the farm was terrible, but I almost can understand. He does really care about her and just wanted to get her back to the farm. I’m not sure if it was right, though. I don’t think Lori wants the protection that Shane is trying to give her. I think the scene where she kills the zombies that come at her after her car wreck proves that she can handle herself pretty well.
Hershel is definitely changing now that he has accepted that the zombies are not people anymore. He is also seeing that the world has changed and people might have to kill others to stay alive. The way he threatened Shane was pretty awesome.
I don’t know if I agree with Hershel saving that guy who had his knee impaled on the fence. I think I would have shot him and left. There were too many zombies around. It was too much of a risk. They didn’t even know the guy and there didn’t even seem to be a good reason to save him.
I’m not sure what to think about Glenn being upset about the feelings between him and Maggie. I understand that he was mad at himself freezing up. He could have gotten the others killed. He let his feelings take over and it made him more afraid to get killed. He used to be the guy who would run and do anything. He had nothing to lose. Now that he has Maggie, he doesn’t want to leave her behind. On the other hand, I would think it would be nice to find love during this type of horrible event. People need something to comfort them.
There is also something weird going on between Daryl and Carol, right? There is definitely some tension going on. I’m not sure if it sexual, about Sophia, or both. Daryl is obviously still very upset about Sophia. I think he might blame himself for what happened to her or thinks he should have been able to find her in time. I wouldn’t be surprised if we see them hooking up in the future.
The biggest part of the show had to have been Lori wrapping herself around Rick and manipulating him into thinking that he needs to protect his wife and kids from Shane. I do think he is a possible danger. I could see him killing Rick to get Lori. That stare Rick had at the end. It was intense. It was hard to see exactly what was going on in his head, but I think he knows he has to do something about Shane.
It looks like things are going down next week, especially between Rick and Shane. Hopefully it leads to an awesome knock-down-dragout They Live style fight between the two. I can’t wait to find out what happens.
