WAITAMINUTE! There Might Be an ALF Movie?! [Rumor]

Hide your cats, everybody: ALF might be returning... in film form, no less.



Yes, in the age of 1980's television properties like Transformers, G.I. Joe, and My Little Pony returning in one form or another, ALF might not be far behind. According to the series creator, principal puppeteer, and main voice actor Paul Fusco, there has been a script in development for the last 4 years, and now might be the time to resurrect his beloved character.

“I think the timing is right. That’s a big important thing, timing. There have been movies out there of characters that I didn’t think were on the same parallel as ALF that got movies made, so I think it’s time. I think it could be a home run on a lot of levels.”

"ALF could be more outspoken now than ever, because the world is a whole different place than the '80s. And I think the character still stands up and certainly has more to say now than ever. I think we would approach it in a fresh way. I don’t think we would duplicate the TV show, but I think we would maybe put it in a storyline where we would explain how ALF got here and put him with a new family and let the character speak for himself."

The last time we saw Gordon Schumway (ALF's real name, and yes, I knew that without looking it up), he was the host on a very short-lived talk show called ALF's Hit Talk Show and doing commercial for Geico opposite Hulk Hogan. Here's hoping this possible film fares much better.
