Double Fine Makes $3 Million!!!

See the three exclamation points in the title? That's one for each million!  In case you don't remember what this was about back when they hit 2 million bucks, Tim Schafer's Double Fine Productions is making an old school adventure game (along the lines of Monkey Island or Grim Fandango) and are raising money via Kickstarter.  They have obviously reached their goal (and then some!) but you can still drop some cash before the last six hours are up to get some of the awesome bonuses!  They are also going to live stream the countdown during the Kickstarter's final minutes here, which is sure to be a fun watch!

Double Fine Doubles a Million Dollars

In only 8 days!  After breaking Kickstarter records by making a million dollars in just under 24 hours, Tim Schafer and Doublefine Productions have manged to squeeze out another million a week later.  The project, which is funding a brand new graphic adventure game from Schafer and Ron Gilbert (of Monkey Island fame) is definitely proving to the world adventure games aren't dead (and the phrase "adventure games are dead" should be) and that you don't need an EA or an Activision to make the games that you want to make. Congrats to Doublefine-- and if you want to drop some cash in the metaphorical hat of this project, you still can!  The more money this rakes in the more stuff they' ll be able to put in the game!
