Yup, Jay and Silent Bob are getting a animated movie (which there's been murmurs of for some time now) but for the first time ever, we finally get to see a little bit of it! It was produced by Jason Mewes himself, and directed by Steve Stark, the guy behind the Smodimations series (and possibly Tony Stark's secret brother!?). Hit the jump to see...and of course I'll throw in my two cents.
Blech. I have always been a Kevin Smith fan-- especially in high school, I would rotate constantly through his entire catalog. As a matter of fact, I think the unfortunately short-lived Clerks animated series is one of the best shows of it's kind ever produced. It kills me to this day that Family Guy got to come back and Clerks didn't. This though, looks pretty damn awful. This trailer didn't even get a chuckle out of me-- every joke fell flat on its face, and even the bong saber/light saber Clerks reference felt ham-fisted and lame. Mostly I really don't like this Steve Stark guy's art style. It's hard to go from the super awesome Stephen Silver designs of the animated series...

...to something that looks like it was drawn by someone who was let go from John K.'s Spumco for being to generic. Hopefully I'm wrong and it ends up being good, but this trailer doesn't inspire a lot of confidence, that's for sure.
